We offer a broad range of services, including, but not limited to, general cleanings, fillings, root canals, and dentures. We offer preventative and restorative dental procedures, as well as cosmetic dentistry services. Though general dentistry encompasses many types of services, the most standard of these is oral hygiene. Oral hygiene can be defined as the practice of daily preventative care such as brushing and flossing to keep the mouth clean and free of gum disease and tooth decay. For best hygiene, we recommend brushing thoroughly twice a day and flossing once a day, maintaining a balanced diet, and using dental products that contain fluoride. When proper oral hygiene is maintained, the likelihood that a patient will need restorative procedures is decreased. Helping you take care of your oral health is important to us!

Michelle Davis Dental makes it a priority to have the latest in dental technology, because we know this means a safer, more gentle experience and a faster recovery time for you. This includes digital x rays and intraoral cameras, as well as paperless charting and e- claims that help us keep more accurate records.

Here is an outline and description of some of the many general dentistry services that Michelle Davis Dental can provide for our Moody, AL patients. For a more inclusive list, please visit our Services page.

Dental Cleanings

This service is recommended every six months to prevent excess plaque build up. A process called scaling is used to remove plaque and tartar from tooth surfaces, to prevent unhealthy gums and tooth decay.

Crowns and Bridges

Sometimes teeth get damaged. A crown is used to cover and strengthen a damaged tooth and it also enhances its appearance. A bridge is used to fill the space created by missing teeth. A bridge serves to replace a missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically and can be done in gold alloy or ceramic to match the natural tooth color.

A filling is a way to restore a decayed tooth back to its normal function and shape. The decayed tooth material is removed, the area is cleaned, and the cavity is filled with a material that helps prevent further decay in the tooth.

Root Canals

When a cavity is not treated quickly enough with a filling, a root canal can become necessary. This can cause the pulp to be infected. Once this happens, a root canal is necessary to prevent the infected pulp from weakening the immune system. This procedure cleans out the infected pulp and disinfects the canals of the tooth. The canals are then filled in to prevent further decay.

When there is a narrow groove in a tooth that cannot be properly cleaned by brushing, it can be filled in using a sealant. This will help prevent cavities in the little grooves where the toothbrush bristles cannot reach.

Teeth Whitening

This is a safe and painless way to make your teeth whiter and brighter. There are different ways of whitening that include in-office procedures and tray procedures done in the comfort of your own home.

Wisdom Teeth

A wisdom tooth extraction is a routine process that becomes necessary when the last molars that grow are not aligned to the other teeth and become impacted, or when the teeth grow in sideways. This is a common occurrence and after the extraction the discomfort should subside within a few days.

We are here to serve you and your dental needs and we look forward to providing you with the utmost in service and care. If you’re in Moody, Alabama or the surrounding areas, please call us today to schedule your appointment!
